The City of Los Angeles requires residential steep-slope reroofs citywide to meet a minimum solar reflectance standard, ahead of what the state requires statewide. It was the first major U.S. city to mandate this. We build compliant materials into the estimate — it is not an optional upgrade in LA city limits.
Is there a rebate for a cool roof in LA?

Do commercial low-slope roofs in LA need to meet Title 24 cool roof requirements too?
Yes — under the 2025 Title 24 Energy Code, effective for permits pulled from January 1, 2026, low-slope commercial reroofs replacing more than half the roof need an aged solar reflectance of at least 0.63 and an SRI of at least 75. A properly specified silicone restoration coating meets that threshold.
